You can't pump your own gas in Oregon?

Nope. They are afraid of drive offs or someone blowing up the station. Instead, they have some high school dropout come out, butcher up the side of your car with the nozzle, overfill it and run gas down the fender, and forget to put your cap on tight. But, they don't have state taxes.

They do not have to empty the tank to change the fuel pump. It is done from the back seat. Also if they did pump it out they would stick it back in. I think your being paranoid Simply tell the GF to ONLY stick 93 Octane Gas in and ask her every other day to make sure she knows the correct answer.
I only had to tell my wife once. She know it only take 91 Octane. But we have been having to do that with my F-150 for a few years already so she is use to it.
You could alwasy attach a bright red label of some sort to teh gas cap strap.
