ORIGINAL: TPony

Wow, $28K for a vert that was cheap.
Yeah, are we missing something here? Ya just don't buy a car for 'X' dollarsand drive it (not sure what mileage was but even 0mi), then sell it back toa dealer for 'X' dollars. Has to be more to the story, tell us more... curious now....

I'd like to kow how you purchased a 2007 GT automatic conv for only $28,000? MY ordered 06 GT had everything except the shaker 1000 and cost me $32,000, and that was a great deal. "Flex"? Where do you guys come up with this stuff? In fact, the heavier GT convertible is faster in the qtr mile time then the coupe.

I was going through AutoTrader on-line and came across a Ford dealer in Maryland selling an 07' GT convertible for $28K. I spoke with the internet salesman and he faxed me over the invoice. MSRP was $34K, they were selling it for $28K. Last 07' GT convertible on the lot. The card had 32 miles on the odo.

I put $4K down and finaced it for $24K to keep my monthly payments low. Wasn't really thrilled about the auto and the wife wasn't crazy about the convertible, so I found a local dealer who paid me $28K for the car and cut me a check for the difference that I financed ($4K).

I believe you. There were a few around in Denver when we bought our GT. Didn't come with some of the options that I had to have though. At the time, wasn't even considering a vert but now we are. Hell, when we were on our way to Denver, there was still a 60% chance we were coming home with a Ranger.

If you look hard enough, there are deals out there. I just had another dealership call me offering an 07' GT 5-speed Premium convertible for $29,200. It's pretty agressive pricing.

Good job! This car was designed to resemble the old fastbacks, and the convertible just doesn't do it the justice as the hard top, (JMO).
