Thanks. I'm really excited but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't worried about the track abuse. Half of my roush body pieces were hanging off when I took it to the dealer. I don't think roush meant for them to withstand 130 mph...lol

I've had to constantly re-tape them down and the shop said they are going to put them back on with an 'adhesive' vs. tape. I don't remember what it was called but you body guys should know. It's supposedly a lot stronger than tape. Hopefully it will hold up. With the Bill Coogle custom stuff as well, I am a littel nervous about beating on it. I'll have to come up with some precautions or something cause I'm a track ***** and will still run the thing hard. Just have to make some creative use of clear bra material around the back half...

Wow, that's a great story. I would have paid a little extra for additional coats of clear since they were painting the whole car. But otherwise, well done.

I actually did talk to them about that. The factory uses about 1 and 1/2 coats of clear. I'm having about 2 to 2 and 1/2 put on. I orginally wanted more but I talked to some painters and they said too many coats of clear isn't good for a drag car like mine cause I get a lot of vibration and it could make the clear crack and spider if it's too thick. They tell me with the 2 to 2 and 1/2 coats it's going to be way more polished looking over stock and will be almost a mirror finish. I'm just stoked about seeing the car next week! I can't believe I'm so excited over a show mod...lol I thinnk this is the most anxious I've been to see the car ever.

We won't know 'for sure' until I get the car back next week but it looks like Sunrise Ford in North Hollywood is a great place for body/paint work as these guys are on it. They send me pics to my phone at every stage and call me to approve every single point. I'm just not used to a dealership giving this kind of service....lol

Sounds like they are taking good care of you. My local dealer painted my cervinis hood, and blended the fenders. It turned out perfect. They charged less than anyplace here. $450. I'm a perfectionest, and could find nothing wrong with their work.

I could find NOTHING EVEN CLOSE TO THAT PRICE here in so cal to paint and install a hood, let alone paint stripes...
I got my Trufiber hood painted and striped for $300 here in Redlands. Damn good job, too! Usually the spider cracks are from not adding enough flex to the paint. If painted properly, 10 coats should not do that even if drag racing.
