RE: Shelby GT 500 cheapest price you have seen?
$2,500 over MSRP in Los Angeles.
Many dealers are slashing the markups on 2007 GT500s sitting on their lots since the '08s (w/ HID lights, etc.)are arriving shortly.

RE: Shelby GT 500 cheapest price you have seen?
This one at $45,500 w/ 11 miles is the cheapest I've seen
Shelby GT500
Although it is on eBay, it is from a dealer. The best places to look are small down dealers. I'm talkin smaaaallll towns. If a small town does manage to get one (I have heard of plenty MSRP or $1K below stories btw), they will have a hard time selling it, sometimes even at MSRP.

2 questions for you guys.
Anyone think we will see some 35-37K prices in 6-12 months on a used one milageunder 15K?
If prices drop to the above would any one else seriously consider getting on in that price range

If I were to get one it would be red thinking Snake hood and stripe etc down the road the only other color possible vista Blue but red in the GT 500 for me is what I would want.

$68k for a GT500? The guy must have been too naive to know that you can get a new Z06 for a little bit more. How lame. I don't know how someone could choose a GT500 over a regular C6, much less a Z06! The '08 Corvettes do everything better, looks included imo, although looks are obviously subjective.
To TJ, two to three years seems like a reasonable amount of time to get a used 2007 GT500 for around $35k. I think they are too rare to realistically get one for $35k now. There are always exceptions, but I would be very skeptical about any GT500 currently selling for $35k or so.

Please enlighten us on where you get your Info about the prices of Z06s. I've yet to hear anyone pay less then $75,000.00 out the door. Even with my Mods I have less the $68,000.00 out the door.

But I have so much fun dissapointing the local C6 Vettes in my neighborhood. I have raced 1 at the track and 2 on the street (freeway from a rolling 60). I dissapoint them everytime. They obviously don't think I have boost, and it's good knowing that for 35K I am spanking the vettes that are 50K +, and I usually have back seat witnesses to the event which makes it more priceless, maybe it's a good thing they only have 1 witness to see the massacre.....
And you don't always have to pay $50k for a C6. I've seen quite a few newspaper ads for 2007'sfor as little as $41k or $42k with the Z51 suspension. I'm sure by this time next year, the 2008's will be similarly priced. Plus, a Corvette is fast right out of the box; no modification necessary. Although I know modding is half the fun with the mustangs.
In summary, I would take a 2008 C6 with the Z51 suspension over any mustang- no question. I just don't have enough $$ for one without making myself poor!
**Edit: ^^Excluding classic mustangs etc that I could sell and buy three Corvettes lol!

To clarify, I was referring to the poster who stated someone paid $68k for a GT500; I wasn't saying the Z06 was $68k. $75k for a Z06 is only 10% more money than $68k for the GT500. I'd pay a little more for the Z06 and stomp on the GT500 all day long.
Lol, must be fun! But the 2008 C6's are rated at 430hp/424tq, and they weigh 3,180 lbs. Are you still faster? You may very well be faster (although I'm sure it must be close), but throw in some twisty roads, and the Corvette will walk all over an S197.
