Dead Battery and ~2 A draw

Dead Battery and ~2 A draw
I went out one morning to start after not driving my 07 GT for a couple of days to find a dead battery. I take it in and find out that the battery is toast and get a new one.
I drive it for another day or two with no problem until I go out the next day and the new battery is dead. This one seems to charge up, but I'm measuring over 1.5 A draw while it's just sitting there without the key in. That's not normal is it? I have an aftermarket stereo so I tried detaching the face and it makes no change. I've had the stereo in for months and it's never been a problem.
Any ideas on what to check? I know there are a million posts about this, but they all seem to point to a bad battery (replaced) or the Shaker 500 (replaced).
Thanks in advance,
Mike

RE: Dead Battery and ~2 A draw
Ok sounds like time for some troubleshooting
ok disconnect the stereo and check for draw
if there is still a draw then go to the fuse box
have someone with the amp meter stand there checking the draw
and one at a time pull the fuses and replace them so that you don't put one in the wrong place
if you find that pulling one cuts(or reduces)the draw mark it and continue
then after all fuses are checked assuming you find the one(s) the draw is going through check to see what those fuses are for

RE: Dead Battery and ~2 A draw
if the 1 amp draw for the front amps is happening
with the key out of the ignition, i would say that
can't be normal.
if it's with the key in the ignition (in the on position) , i'm not sure if
that's normal or not, it might actually be...
