What's Your Maintenance Schedule
 

Okay so we all know what the "recommended" scheduled maintenance is. But this is the real world, and the owner's "manual" doesn't always list everything out in very good detail. Not to mention that in the last couple of days I have come across "recommended" alignments every year and people changing brake fluid once a year. So what is everyone doing and how often?

Oil&Filter: 3,500-4,000 miles with Mobil 1 and K&N filter
Tires: rotate every 7,500 miles ish
Alignment: never done....probably wont until it gets lowered this winter
Brake Fluid: never done
Rear Diff: never done
Tranny(5-spd): never done
Coolant: never done
Spark Plugs: never done
Grease poly bushings: every 2-3 oil changes
Wash: at minimum once a month
Anything I missed?: never done



So what are you doing to maintain your Mustang?

I change my oil ever 3k.
rotate tires every other oil change.
Not there yet but will flush my P/S and brake fluid at 30k.
Rear diif change when I did the gear swap.
I am a firm believer in flushes as preventive maintenance. Working at a dealer I can see what happens when things get deglected.

I change my oil/filter every 3K miles, rotate tires every 5K.
I'll be pulling,cleaning/checking spark plugs this week.
Haven't done any other fluid changes yet, but I plan on changing trans & diff. fluid around 50K. Manual trans. 18K on car.

Don't just go by miles - you need to consider time also - look in your manual. My stang is 1 year old and only has 2900 miles. I have changed the oil/filter twice - 1800 and 2900 miles. Last timei put in Mobil 1 synthetic. Don't know if it is a waste but just my way of keeping Ford from screwing with me.

My Maintenance Schedule is in the manual. I stick to it unless a mod supersedes it.
