Default RE: Roush Hood Scoop - Finally

Just ordered mine this afternoon painted from Roush. Can you please be a little more specific about the studs? And any other install tips you have or deviations from the instructions? Starting to get nervous

Thanks for any help!

Are the instructions online anywhere?

Looks great! I love mine too, same color also THRs. The only problem I had on the install was it took me forever to lineup the screws with the holes.
I also had a heck of a time with the studs. I drilled my holes 0.201
instead of the 5mm as suggested by Roush. I used a modified
screwdriver with a hook on the end to encourage the studs to
line up with the holes. There is just no positive way to attach
the slid on studs in the proper location the first time on the scoop.

Shoot me your eMail and I can send you the PDF of the instructions.
The 7studs clip onto the scoop and front panel. The scoop and front
panel have slots for the clip studsand this is where the studs cannot
be exactly located. They need to be slid around a little to get them
to align with the holes. This is nerve racking as I did it with the scoop
on the hood. I used a long little screwdriver with a hook on the end
to help the studs into the holes

The job will be much easier if you don't drill the holes the size of the studs. When I saw in the instructions to use a 5mm drill bit (there ain't no such thing), I asked on the forum why the size was significantly larger than the studs, but never got an answer. Now I know! Don't use anything smaller than whatever is close to 5mm. (I don't know where Roush got that size - I couldn't find anywhere that carried them)

What size drill bit should you use to drill the holes?

btw - thanks for the help 157db...

Thanks!

Never done anything like this before - don't want to have to sell it on ebay because I'm too scared to do it
