After reading all the concerns over scratching of window tinting, I went out and checked my 2008 V6 Premium and lo and behold there is felt on both sides of the window. Is this something Ford has just accomplished, due to all the many years of concerns. Has anyone else checked their 2008 and found the same? How about tinting, any problems with 2008 model, i.e. scratching?

my windows were tinted mid oct. the day after i bought the car, didnt know anythign about moleskin so didnt put it on

2008s shouldn't have a problem. I know mine are perfectly fine after 3,000 miles.

Just get the moleskin its like $30, and protects the tint from scratching which will occur if not used as you stated in your topic post. I don't know why people are so dam cheap and keep trying to get around not using it. Its like trying to change your oil and use the same oil filter cause you think it might not mess anything up.

went 3 weeks before installing the moleskin,no problems but wanted to be safe so i put it on,i have the 3m tint,no problems.

The issue isn't with tint, it's with the area you live and what year model you have. The 2005's and 2006's had the issue, 2007's had different stripping and 2008's have even better stripping. All I did was upgrade my window strip to the 2008's.

How much were the 2008 window strips? Did you get them from a dealer?

Thanks for Info. I have 2007 and I have 2 scrathes on driver side and 5 on passanger side. Tint is now about 6 months old.
I want to put the new strips on and then bring it back to get re-tinted. Tint shop said if i get scratches bring it back and they will re-tint it.
