IM trying to get my new magnaflow tips put on my mustang and take the mufflers off and this shop wants to charge $80? is that fair? The other shop I called said mustangs dont make mufflers behind the axle lol..... im gettin worried does that price seem to high?

Shouldn't take more than an hour for them so that's pretty steeply priced I'd think. BTW, there is no welding involved and it is very easy if you're at all mechanically inclined.

im not using an axle back. im using mangnaflow tips. and removing my mufflers.

Ah, I mis-read, my fault. Call another shop or two and if they all say similar prices, you have your answer.

Remember, you're not paying for the actual time it takes....you're paying for the use of the equipment that you don't own and the expertise of the technician.

Technicians make money by "beating the clock." Getting something done, and done well, in 20 minutes that pays an hour is how they make their living.

$80 bucks sounds right to weld in pipes in place of the mufflers with your tips. If I read correctly.

Thats what Pronto muffler in Plano was going to charge me for a muffler delete system. But did more checking and Texas requires the car to have a muffler so that out.

Holy smokes!! That isa rip-off.

After I got my Borla catbacks put on.....they rattled some and weren't lined up just right....I took the car to a local, reputable muffler shop and they tack welded the whole exhaust system for $10!!

Dude....they are trying to give youthe shaft, dry.
