Default WARNING for Cervini's hood #1171 & Steeda

I have the Cervini's hood #1171 and the Steeda CAI. The hood actually smashes the conecracking the housing of the cone. Here are 2 pictures showing the problem. The fix for this sucks. I have to get the MAF housingmachined down.. My idea before I noticed this was to get someone to make me a fiberglass housing that uses the premade channel to go over the cone. I had no issues with the BBK CAI when it was there just the Steeda.

edit; I think what I may do is see if the guy who is/was going to do my fiberglass work cangrind down the channel instead of doing the maf housing, then cover what he did with fiberglass making it lookgood hiding the channel. Hmmmmmmmmm

Here is another picture. I Think I my have found out how to fix it easily. I am not impressed by Steeda's cone at all. There is no way to secure it in place it just bounces around under the hood.

This might be a little bit off topic but how does the CAI breathe? Does it just pull hotair from under the stockhood? and is your new hood functional to help the CAI get "better air"?

My Steeda has a whole box with padded top that fits against the hood to keep out engine heat. All the ram air hood will do is circulate cooler air for the CAI to draw from.

Nice, I know the CAI is supossed to take in "cold air" but it must be kinda hard (specially here in Phoenix) when it's so freakn'HOT and the car has nowhere to breathe from except the engine bay..... [:'(]
