Default 06 Exhaust cutouts question

I have a 2006 Saleen Supercharged GT that I am thinking of adding electric activated cutouts to. Has anyone done this? Will the CPU freak out and trip any faults, or will it run properly? What brand worked for you? Does it fit easily or did you say things you wouldn't want your mother to hear when installing them? Any useful hints/tips/tricks?

Will the guy in the Civic next to me give up when he hears them?

Any answers or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I don't want something that may leak over time, or be a problem in the future, and I have never had them in a car before. Is this a bad idea to do in a nice car that I want to keep reliable and easy to live with?

Thanks folks!

Roy

cut outs, don't do it. you got a mean car cut outs will make your car louder but sound cheaper. if you want louder get LT headers and o/r H pipe will go well with your saleen SC and flowmaster mufflers, the LT's and Hpipe will give you more HP too. and the new exhaust will sound scary, not for women or children, but great for that guy in the civic next to you, it'll make him crap in his pants.

Basically go from muffled exhaust to open header at the flip of a switch. I think they're awesome, and have been thinking about doing it on my '65.

First off, cut outs: They are bypasses away from the rest of the exhaust system. After the manifolds, at the bottom of the bent under the car, they offer a "dump" to the atmosphere. Electrically actuated versions allow this with the press of a button.

Example:

On to the second person, I agree, it will be way to loud, and not sound too good, but I already have a flowmaster set-up, and I enjoy the quite, but powerful sound. This is just to be used on special occassions, ie. Honda-Boy in the next lane that just doesn't get it...I'm faster, go home.

This system will probably not be open more than 1 hour in the entire life of the car, or forever, whichever comes second. Like I said, just for special occassions.

Thanks for the input. I am glad to get any feedback!

I would get them...but would only use them in the drag strip... And the occasional "rev-rev back" situation.
