Default Do all battery covers fit poorly?

I've noticed in even new 2008 Mustangs that the positive terminal on the battery looks like this.
Does yours?
If not what did you do?

Mine looks exactly the same on both my fords. '06 GT and '06 Crown Vic. Dunno what the deal is.....

Mine looks the same and it is as if the part is not right for the car. It is just a cover so I positioned it better for the cleaner look.

Yup, same here. You'd think they might have spent the extra .13 cents on a cover that actually fits. I guess it's no big deal but it does look like A$$.

I zipped tied it around the cable part but it still isn't completely flush. Oh well.

How did you get past my alarm to take that pic of my battery? LOL
Not much but try and reposition it. I looked at quite a few stangs
and they all were like that. Too many left over cover from the 80-90s?
