I have a Whipple H O (10 PSI). You cannot hear it at all until you are into boost. Then you hear the "whine" or "whooooop" as the air is compressed.
You can drive it all day and if you stay out of boost no one knows the difference. Drives just like a regular ol' GT. Get on it enough for the by-pass to close and let the music begin.
Most of the centri's (snail) I have heard whine at idle as well as under boost.

Yes the "whine" is priceless, especially when seeing the C6 owner in the next lane dropping his jaw in awe when you beat them everytime.

I prefer the whine sound of my Roush S/c'r,compared to my Vortech I had on my Honda S2000 back in 2001.It also fits the car well under the hood.The Honda hood rubbed the cooler of the Vortech.The snail made a lot of blow off noise after taking my lead foot off the throttle.It depends which sound you prefer.The Vortech winds up a bit quicker than the Roots.
