Are shorties worth it?

RE: Are shorties worth it?
I bought JBA Stainless Steel Shorty Headers, on E-Bay for $300, shipped. Had them installed along with the FRPP X-Pipe. I see a lot of threads where guys are getting CEL's with their long tube set-ups, I don't know if it's because of the Cat's or what. But I was afraid of messing with the Cat's. There's a guy (Moses 05 I think) who dyno'ed at 319 RWHP with just basic bolt-on's and JBA Shorties.

Shorties will give you 0 hp 0 tourque. Long Tubes will give you 5- 7 rwhp if you are N/A or roughly 15-20 rwhp if you at f/i or nitrous. Please dont argue with me either by saying you get more, i have dyno records to PROVE the long tube part. I cannot back up the shortie part myself but i do recall someone on here posting a before/after dyno sheet of shorties and he was very disappointed becausae they were the same.

I like my L/T's... they make my pee pee look longer [:-].
(they also only costed me 600 bucks on ebay...shipped! JBA Stainless Steel L/T's) and they gave me mad gains as far as I noticed, not to mention the lion-who-hasn't-been-fed-in-a-month sound

Theimportant thing to remember is the stock headers and the rest of the setup is very efficient, and you just won't get much gains period.
Hey, theres nothing wrong with a good stock setup! It lets you mod other stuff...

Shorty headers do not increase HP or torque, really.I went with them to increase the breathing of the engine a bit.The OEM manifolds are quite good actually..Shorties didn't create any fittment issues, and zero modifications to the placement of the cats / 02 sensor and visually look good.If you want gains in HP there is nothing like longtubes. The BBKshorties give my car a bit of a growl at WOT.I didn't want to get the longtubes, because I wanted to keep my basic Roush tune and warranty..I figured shorties wouldn't affect that.At the time I had them installed I worked at a Ford/Roush Dealer and got a great deal.I am happy with the HP/TQ my car has!I'm satisfied...
