Free Horsepower mod

All -

So...for those of us who are 100% stock (yeah, I know, there are VERY few of us)...what mods can I do to increase horsepower? I read that someone cut holes in their stock airbox to make it breathe better, but no pics. I am thinking that would probably make a huge difference (and it'd probably look like sh!t, too!). Or maybe if I just took the top off...hmm.

I also saw that "free" mod for 2005 Mustangs where you can remove that honeycomb thing in your intake tube to gain 5whp (free!). Any other "free" mods I can do to increase HP?

Go on a diet and lose 10lbs. It won't create add'l HP, but your power-to-weight ratio will improve. That same diet plan can be applied to your Stang too ;)

And best of all - it's free!

Only early 2005's have that precatalyst in the intake.

All my mods are on a very tight budget, I've been buying my stuff used whenever I can.

Diablo Predator: $190shipped
Hurst Shifter: $150shipped (I got this when there was a shortage of them, thats why its sorta expensive)
Steeda UDP: $140shipped, NIB
Steeda CMCV: $100shipped, 2 weeks old

I'll be getting a |3amachips tune soon so add another $75 to this list.

+10000. Shave weight.
100 lbs = 10hp = .10 off your 1/4. Not really adding HP, but you'll be faster...just like getting gears.

Dont know of any "free" horsepower mods unless you have a 05' V6

Switch to synthetic oils. Many cars gain 8hp to the ground switching to full synthetics.

let 10 lbs of air out of each tire. 10 X 4 = 40 lbs less weight!
