Default Shaker 1000 vs shaker 500??

Is the shaker 1000 sound system really that much better than the shaker 500 system?? I'm looking into buying a GT with all options except it only has the 500 sound system instead of the 1000. I may eventually put subs in anyay...
Thanks for any input.

If you decide to go with a Deluxe to save money, I might sell you the Shaker 500 out of the car I'm getting ready to buy, and we could trade door panels too. I can't find one without any of the Shaker radios that's configured like I want in an '07 model, and I really want the incentives. The dealers can't seem to find one, so I'm stuck with the radio unless I want to order a new '08. Let me know what you think. I'll be able to check back in about 15 minutes...

Did you mean the shaker 1000 system, cause the one I'm looking at already has the 500 in it?

I would say for the cost no at all...the shaker 1000 is a $1200 add on last i checked and the only difference is the 2 10" subs in the trunk. IMO get the 500 and or just the plain unit and put in all aftermarket speakers and a new HU. You can always add a sub later in the same spot the 1000 subs are suppose to be at. I noticed a huge sound improvement with my Avic-z1 and new 5x7s all around over the shaker 500

I love the 1000 but I bought my car used so it was free as far as I am concerned.

For someone who will eventually want more than the 1000, the $1200 can be spent on much better components. For someone who will never want to go aftermarket, the 1000 is probably a decent investment, unless you are happy with the bass in the 500. Id say go sit in a vehicle with each and decide for yourself... most dealerships will let you test drive multiple cars, or at least sit in them and start them up.

They both suck!! Only thing good is the 6 disc changer for stock and no charge. Save $1300 and get the 500 and if you want to spend $1300 go get some good stuff not FORD stuff. They make cars not sound systems!! Basically your paying $1300 for a amp and 2 subs. Head unit is still a 6 disc changer for both. Good luck in your choice.

If you're thinking of putting in subs later and don't mind doing the work, you'll be much happier. I would just get the 500 and move on with life.

I would go with the 500 over the stock stereo just for the door subs, worth it for the sealed door enclosures. I would skip the 1000 because for that much money thier is a lot better aftermarket products you can buy.
