Default Updated my Shelby Superstripe

I've had the pieces to finish the front bumper for about a year, and finally decided to try them out. The front bumper on the V6 is a real pain to get right with this stripe, and I'm trying to figure out a way to fill in the license plate frame (we don't have front license plates in Michigan) until I convince my wife that I really need to just go ahead and have the stripes painted! It was starting to get dark when Iwas reminded(from another forum) that I hadn't posted the updated pictures yet.

With just the topfront bumper completed for the last 2 weeks:

And as it has been for the last year - "naked" front bumper:

Thanks Jason - if it is the same people that did your car then I know it will come out great! I'll let you know when I am ready to go with painted stripes (that will also be the easiest way to get the full bumper - including the license plate area done).

Looks great Jim.
How difficult was it to align the front bumper stripe?
Did you have to use a hair dryer or heat gun to align it properly over the bumper?
I need to put on my (2) 9" shelby GT stripes on the front bumper and have been putting it off.
Just wondering what joy I'll be in for.
Thanks!

The single Shelby SS type is very difficult to align - the curves and dips don't help at all! After a couple of weeks on the top part of the bumper, I discovered that it still had some small bubbles after letting it sit in the sun all day. Hair dryer might help with the install since you can dry it quicker and tack down a spot before stretching the vinyl to get a smooth (hopefully) stripe, I didn't use one though.

I think that the dual stripes you are talking about will be an easier job since you aren't going to be trying to align a large panel over the compound curve

Jim, it looks outstanding. Great job. I wish I had gone with the superstripe myself and since I have the vinyl I still may at some point. (There are just a couple of things a little higher on the priority list.)

Lookin good Jim!! I still like my bumpers naked, but when I get my stripes painted on, I think I am going to have them finished all the way down, along with painting the back blackout panel.....

Nice goin,

Mike
