Default LEDS CONNECTED TO MAP LIGHT FOR FOOTWELL

Ok so the other day i was at the gas station and i saw a mustang gt with leds or neons in his footwell. They turned on when he unlocked the car, so im pretty sure their connected to his map lights. Now how can i connect leds to the map light so that when i unlock the car or turn the map light on the leds in the footwell will go off. Also what do i need to buy to do this. Any help would be apreciated..thanks

What you see is the ambient lighting option for 2008 models. It is easy to add leds to the footwells. Go buy led strips, tap into whatever color wire is for the interior lighting(no need for a relay, as leds don't require much power). Your pretty much done. I know this is easier said then done, but it is a simple project to add.

It shouldn't be difficult if you have ANY experiance in car wiring.

I would look for something between 5-8" to go in the areas. Any 12v led strip will work.

I installed lights in my footwell area earlier this summer. It's fairly easy to do. If you want to use LEDs, the procedure is similar. The only thing you need to worry about with LEDs is the polarity. If you wire it up and it doesn't work, simply reverse the wires. Here is a set of instructions.
