Thats right, cruising at 50 my shifter linkage decided to fall apart on me while shifting gears, I was lucky enough to be able to roll into a parking lot with my momentum. I wasn't even banging through them, just smooth casual driving. Car has less than 7k miles on it and something like this happens. Had to get towed to ford last night at around midnight, my car was so low that both the chin spoiler and the exhause tips had some lovely contact with the pavement

Went to ford this morning and come to find out, the transmission guy isn't in until monday, must be my lucky day [:@]

So thats my sob story for the weekend.

I'd tell ford that becasue of the faulty linkage and having to get the car towed to the dealership, the car got damaged, see if they will fix it. If your iinkage never broke, your parts would have been ok still. Never can hurt to ask, I have asked for things before on my old mustang and sometimes they will give in and sometimes they wont, but u gotta ask to see.

Sucks but I gotta ask, what short shifter and did you put it in? Cause if you put it in and it broke ... they won't be covering it.

It's a B&M short shifter, the thing is, the part that broke is the part closer to the transmission, not a part attaching to the short shifter, so I have no idea, guess I'll have to wait and see what they say. If they don't cover it, it won't be the end of the world for me.
