also being a previous turbo 4 cylinder owner and doing plenty of research on which cars like what oil, i found out that subarus want conventional oil, whereas my Srt-4 wanted mobil 1 synthetic.....which is another reason why i posted this, as i uncomfortably know very little about this car so far.....

I need an answer guys, how often do u change ur oil and oil filter on a DD?
Because I only change them every 5000 miles when I take my car in for maintenance, so I'm afraid it should be more often, like every 3000 or so!!
Any input would be appreciated!!

back on topic, I myself use mobil one 5w20 and mobil one filter and stick to the 3mos/3K mi interval because I romp on my car every day (after warming it up to normal op temp of course)...

Eh. Studies show that Mobil 1 does not break down, so technicaly speaking, you can go 1,000,000 on an oil change with changing the filter.
(this was a study done through my dad's work)
But go 3-5 thousand between, just to be safe

I switched to the Castrol syntech. It seems make my motor run smoother. Maybe its just in my head but it cant hurt the motor, so give it a try.

ps mobil one 5w30 is the factory fill for corvettes and the recommended service interval in the owners manual is 15K mi

thanks for all the input guys i really appreciate it...one more thing....i had knee surgery 6 weeks ago and i havent been able to drive the car, so its been sitting in the garage this whole time....should i change the oil before i take it back out because its sitting so long? or is 6 weeks not enough time for the acids in the oil to build up? Thanks again.
