I have one at fault accident + 2 tickets all of which drop next year
currently I am using GMAC insurance for a 95 civic and its 95 a month for basic coverage and I am trying to make the insurance in the 100-200 a month max range. Keep posting different companies your using for CA this has been helpful

If you are a Costco member, try them. Under member services they offer auto and home insurance through American Express. (Additional savings on auto insurance if you insure your home with them too.) In Phoenix, AZ I am paying $638 for 6 months for full coverage on my 2005 GT and my 2004 Chrysler Pacifica. They easily beat all the others I tried. You can get a quote by filling out the form online.

If you have any type of Military ties,
USAA is very good.
they offer multi car discount, passive restraint, active, air bag.
Been with them since they offered coverage to enlisted personnel.
Navy here, that is my "in"

i use safeco. I have a buddy of mine that is a representative for them and he told me that they are one of the best up-and-coming insurance companies. I got one of their best policies, and pay around $180/month. I am 23 and live in Houston also...those both negative factors in the cost young/big city

RE: What Insurance company do you use?
I did a good bit of shopping around for insurance a while back.
I live in VA and am insuring myself (27), and my live-in GF (24). We both have reasonably clean records.
Between us we have a 98 Neon, a 92 Taurus SHO and an 87 Mustang 5.0.
I was with Progressive, and they wanted $744 for a 6 month term. I shopped around 5 or 6 different places and settled on insure.com. They sold me the same coverage for $471/term. I like them because I can do EVERYTHING online. I entered all my info and bought the policy without ever having to pick up the phone.
BTW, I found out that your credit rating affects your insurance rates. I have pretty good credit, so that may be a significant factor.

Erie Ins, $865 yr, 40 yr old, no points or accidents, live in MD. My agent does not take "at risk" drivers which I think means younger than 25 and those with any current mark on their record.
