Default Friggin Brake squeak!?

I have one break squeaking every once in awhile. Only when I'm on the brakes lightly. And if i let off, then re-apply, it stops.

I have less than 12 grand on the clock and I don't drive it hard.

Ideas?

I have the same problem as well. It only happens when i apply medium pressure to the brakes and it's only the right rear one doing it. My last oil change i had them look at it and they said everything was fine so who knows.

The simple thing to know exactly what you have is to pull the wheel and take a look. If it was mine I'd take off the caliper and pads for a real good look. Then I'd probably just go aheadand cleanthe rotor (provided it looks good), replace the pads (all of $25.00-30.00 or so) andbe good to go. Disc brakes are very simple in design and to work on. No reason to have squeeky ones.

I had this very same problem w/ my car w/ 3k miles on it.... I did some research and took it a few places. From what I understood... it has something to do w/ the back of the brakepad and the calipers.. The service tech sprayed some WD-40 on the backside of the BRAKE PAD not the disk and I haven't heard a sound since! That was 3 weeks ago.

Mellow.. I was right there with you.. and when the tech said WD-40 near any part of the brakes i cringed.. but like I said just try a little squirt to the backside of each of the brakepads

Not on my stang, but 2004 Expedition. It had low mileage and the pads had to be replaced due to "hard spots" whatever that meant. I switched the out before they ruined the disc and no more problem 30K later...
