Default Magnapack mid muffler?

This should work, what do you think guys? I was looking at the pypes mid muffler set up & took down the specs for the muffler size. It is the same as a Magnaflow Magnapack. So it is possible...order 2 magnapacks, cut the pipe after the x-pipe and weld/clamp down the magnapacks. Cheap magnapack mid muffler system. Am I correct? say yes, cause I got them on order already. I'm clueless to this year of car's exhaust...I'm used to the new edge's more

i personally think the magnapack muffler is bigger than the pypes m80, which is a tight fit to begin with. with some finagling, it might be possible though.

when the mid muffler system first came out, a lot of people, including the pypes website, talked about using the mid muffler system as a template for mounting other mufflers, so i dunno.

Well...I hope they fit & they should as the specs are the same...

Pypes M80: 14"-2 1/2"-4"round
Magnapack: 14"-2 1/2"-4"round....

...so theoretically they should fit. Do I need a heat shield in there also?

oo so technically they're exactly the same. but the pypes are shaped differently at the ends. your probably right though; sounds like they should fit right up!

07mustanggt, How do the magnapacks sound? I have a catted x right now. I had them on my '02 with o/r x & wow loud as hell & I miss the rumble of them. I am going over to my exhaust place tomorrow and ask what they think. They should fit, no? Same measurements as the m80's. Then as soon as they arrive, I shall have them installed.

I have done this set-up but instead of the Magnapaks, I used Dynomax Racing Bullet mufflers. I don't think you will have any trouble fitting the Magnapaks as I had considered these as well. You will not be disappointed by the sound.

I have the Cervini's side exhaust with X pipe, and am thinking about buying some Pypes M80's to put there in place. I get wayyyy to much trumpeting. Cervini's uses the Magnaflows. Just something to consider.
