Painting Stock Wheels
Ok, I mentioned in another thread I'm considering painting my stock wheels black or maybe even a dark grey. So I searched this forum and googled it and got a few differant ideas but it seems like everyone does something a little differant. So here are my questions.....
Should I used engine enamel or actual wheel paint?
Prime first or dont prime?
Use anything higher than 400 grit when sanding?
Use an ahesive promoter such as bulldog?
Thes are all things some people do and some dont so i'm just looking for some kind of clarity. Also if anyone has pics of wheels they've done i'd love to see pics.

You don't need engine paint, I think any spray paint will do, but especially ones made for plastics. Definitely prime. I'd sand the area first with a lower grit sandpaper or scotch brite pad (something in the 220Grit range). Then a few good coats of primer, wetsand with 400Grit and then a few good coats of spray paint.

Dont forget to clear coat... But if you dont want to do all the work, wheelmedic powdercoated my wheels and they look awesome.

k if u can find it get Wheel paint. i used engine enamel for my wheels because i didnt want to waite a week and a half for wheel paint. make sure you sand verywell. i did one coat of primer, sanded it a bit then did two coats of GLOSS black engine enamel. give it a day or so to cure( you can still drive) and then clear coat( 2 coats).
