so i just noticed that my car is making a really wierd noise. i cant really tell where its coming from but here is the symptoms and observations. when i start the car, its fine when its in park. i drive for a bit then when im at a light, or if i put it back in park, this humming sound keeps coming on an off in a random fashin. i dont go over 100 so it cant be the driveshaft( i hope its not). I opened the hood while my car was idling and the sound isnt coming from the engine bay. i cant tell what it is. it seems like its coming from under the shifter. its not loud but its noticable. its not a constant hum but its on and off. anyone know what it might be? im out of warrenty so ill have to fix it myself. i dont have to change my oil for another 2k miles. i am about due ( according to ford) for a transmission fluid change.

"Sounds", especially those that are hard to locate where they are coming from and are hard to describe are VERY hard to diagnose without someone hearing it in person. What you have could very simply be a 'harmonic' caused by any number of minor things and not be a problem at all. I wouldn't worry about it if I were you.

look at one of your mods.
Did this hum begin after installing one of them?
Maybe the Flowmasters?

Double check the install

might be your new tune. different idle point I would start with the tune. Return it to stock and see if the noise is still there

well i ran the tune for about two weeks before this started happening. could it possibly be the torque converter because it seems to be coming from there. im going to change my transmission fluid an d filter so that might help since i have 51K on my car
