Wheels for the 500GT
I'm wanting to change the wheels on the 500 but not having much luck. Looking for the lightened wheel like on the GT-40 what most call it. Wanting to stay with 18-10 and 18-9 but I need the 50mm offset. You guys having any luck finding anything? I tried the front wheel off of my GTHeritage on the back of the 500 and it fits but I don't have a 9" for the front then.Front wheel on the Heritage is18-10but the backs 19-12.
Thanks for the help.

RE: Wheels for the 500GT
ctr wheels are 42 and 38mm (10 & 9), I've seen them on GT's with your same brakes and they fit. They look very light.
visit their site at http://www.ctrwheels.com/
Some models are on offer on ebay 600$ a set.

Yeah I found those guys but you have to have at least a 40mm off set on the 18X9 on front and they are 38mm. The back isn't a problem but the front will be.
Haven't found anything else.
Thanks

But what I don't get is that even some members of this forum had them on a GT having your same brakes so why won't them fit you?
I've made my own calculations and the wheel will just go out barely 2mm (remember they are 9" and your 9.5") more than the stock GT500 wheels.

RE: Wheels for the 500GT
I'll explain myself, your wheel has about 241.3mm wide, 120.65 half with a 45mm offset, from the hub miunt to the external lip there are 75.65mm
With CTR, 228.6mm wide, 114.3mm half, 38mm offset, that gives 76.3mm from the hub to the lip, that is less than 1 mm of difference.
(Edited cause GT500 wheels aren't 50 mm, are 45mm offset)

RE: Wheels for the 500GT
You are correct 500 wheels are 45mm off set but this is not to the inside clearance this is not problem it'swhen you bolt them on and I have the CT-R's and returned them the front spokes you see hit the front of the brake calipers. Some maybe using a 5mm spacer but I'm not wanting to do that.At 42mm you will clear but 50mm seem to be what everyone is looking for or at least I am to make sure of no problems. I woulkd take 45mm offset if I could find them.
Lay a staight edge across the back where the wheel bolts on to theinside of the rim. Now measure from the closest part of the spoke to the straight edge, this is the off set to clear the front not the outside of the calipers.
Make any sense?

RE: Wheels for the 500GT
Hi John,
I'm having the same problem with my GT500. I will probably go with wheels from Evolution performance. They have 20X 10.5'. I think it's the same setup than the KR.
I'm sure they will have something in the 18' range.
