Default Handheld or Dyno Tune?

I live in Schaumburg, IL and im about to order 4:10 gears anda Steeda complete CAI for my 2005 GT.Total Power Inc. in St. Charles, IL does Dyno Tunes and gear installations. They quoted me $350 for the gear installation and $550 for a Dyno Tune. Is this a fair price or am i getting ripped off? And am i just better off getting a handheld SCT Tune for $350 from Brenspeed? The man who works at Total Power, Frank, stated i would get about 5-8 more H.P. with a Dyno. True or False?

I'm very open to suggestions

Handheld Tune Dyno Tune

Steeda CAI + SCT CAL. 2/Brenspeed tuneCombo $600 Steeda CAI $330
Gears $150 Dyno Tune $550
installation$350 Gears $150
Installation $350
Total $1,100 Installation $1380
This Dyno tune will"possibly" add 5+8 H.P

Thanks

I got a dyno tune for 300, but if you are just adding gears and CAI go with the handheld and save 200 for a suspension mod

Go with the handheld until you add more power like at super or turbo.

i would have to agree, the dyno tune really
is overkill, for just the cai + tune mod.

Is the dyno tune inclusive of a SCT (I'm sure it is). When I had my first one done it was about that much but included the tuner.

If that is the case I would go with the dynotune. Only because I like the option of being able to go back and ring somebodies neck if they screw up!

I have also noticed that further tuning has become much lower in cost.
