Default Anyone used converible in a parade?

I'm going to be driving in a parade over the weekend and there will be one or two people sitting on convertible top frame for about an hour. Anyone else done this? I'm wondering if I ought to be concerned about them damaging the top. Maybe I should have thought about this before I shot my mouth off about letting them use the car?

I use to use my Alfa Romeo spider in parades all the time and I never had an issue...as long as the person isn't real large...I'd stay under 150 lbs. I had them put their butts on the car and their legs rested on the top.

One of my older Mustangs was used in a parade. I wouldn't worry about the top, since they sit primarily on the top of the back seat. I would, however, throw down a sheet or something on the bottom of the back seat, unless you're OK with dirt and footprints all over it. The typical people riding in parades like that (politicians, beauty queens) usually don't care too much about other people's stuff.

P.S. If there are any horses in the parade, make sure they're behind you.

I've used my Mustangs in the local July 4th parade for years. Here's are some pics. No problems with them sitting up on the car as you describe.

Crap. I don't know who's going to be sitting up there. It's the 150th anniversary at my alma mater and they told me there was an unusually large number of VIPs in the parade this year. What if they march ole representative Wide Load and his wifeThunder Thighsup to my car? Crap. Crap. Crap. Note to self: Engage brain before mouth in the future.

Make them get on a scale before they get in the car.

Tell them you're having difficulties putting your top down and have them find someone else. Better yet, a flatbed or pickup.

doesn't that vert come with the cover for the top when it's in the down position?
Put that on. Then maybe tape down cushions on top of it?
