I prefer my Midwest mirror covers because once it's painted then the black trim around the window sticks out like a sore thumb. Plus for me I have a red/white/black theme going so the red inserts next to the black didnt hurt any.

Well my body shop painted them on request. They made me sign off that I agreed they would not warrant them if they peeled. I asked if that means they would peel within a few weeks and they said chances are not, but that the plastic isn't meant to be painted. 2 years running now and they are still 100%. Definitely look awesome and how the car should've come to being with!

Yah, they do look 'textured', but it's only noticeable if you are looking for it, the paint otherwise is perfect.

+1 I can see where the "sore thumb" is now that you've pointed it out. I knew something didn't look right with the all painted mirrors but I just couldn't spot it out.

The problem is that those mirrors are too big IMO. They didn't stay long on my car!
They'll never look right with the body lines of the car.

What Nelson did, is the best thing to do if you gonna keep them.

When the S197 came out, I saw 3 thing on the car that had to be redone aestheticly:
1- mirrors
2- lower the back at least
3- find a way somehow to make the rear bumper lookless fat.

Do you have any better pics of your mirrors, pascal? We've talked about them on a couple occassions, and they look great in your sig but I'd like to see it at another angle.

I posted a few here but can't remember the threads.
I'll flash some for you real quick.
In case you wonder, those mirrors are left overs from a 71 Stang that was in my 68 fasback trunk when I got it.
I refreshed them up and made a metal plate to cover the void left by the OEM ones. Later on I went back to drill holes for my keyless pad on those plates. Time consuming stuff but fun and a real retro look. Those are the real Mc coy.

You could also try these:

Do these eliminate the "sore thumb" look?
