I was on the way to the SD cruise this morning and I was running really late. Long story short I put her in 5th and was pulling 96 on set CC in a 70 when my laser shifter started screaming at me. I slammed her in 4th and heavily braked and within 3 seconds the cop switched over to X band radar. Luckily by then I was only doing 75-77mph and nothing came of it. Funny thing was the next 10 miles the radar detectorwas going nuts. When I exited the freeway I saw thehighway patrol man about 500 yards back and coming up on me fastjust looking at me. That was the best $500.00 I have ever spent, it has saved my A** countess times,this was the first on the Laser though. I was amzed that within 3-4 seconds the cop switched immediately over to radar since I was jamming his signal. That cop has fast reflexes I guess.

Yes I heard the new Valentine is the best. I have the escort 8500 x50. It detectsradar up to 2 miles away, sometimes further on flat ground, and will jam laser to within 150-200 feet away I believe. Most of the time the cops are 1/4 -1/8 mile away so it's no biggie jamming the signal. I picked my escort up at Ultimate Electronics 8 months ago for $500 installed. I still keep getting instant $200-$300rebates.....

I believe 48, Virginia and Washington DCI think are the 2 that are not legal. I'm in California now so if it's legal here it's most likely legal in your state. Go onto Valentine or Escort to find if your state is on the list or not.
