try AGIP gas station!!!!
only station that work perfectly here where I am near to Germany in Czech Republic!
btw its regarded by Ford as vehicle characteristic, it has nothing to do with sensor or funcitionality
advice I got from some insider helpfull Ford guy year ago when I was trying to solve this problem is:
Since I found out that I can fill at Agip w/o problems Im just used to it now and didnt do anything outlined above....

the updated fuel tank part # is 5R3Z-9002-AA and the service proceedure is outlined in TSB 05-15-12.. You can also adjust the filler neck a bit to alleviate this concern. Loosen the retaining bracket that holds the metal filler tube from the tank to the body. Pull down on the tube as much as possible to reduce the amount of uphill climb the fuel must take. Tighten the retaining bracket back up and then loosen the hose clamp that holds the rubber hose to the metal tube. You should have made some slack in the rubber hose and loosening it's clamp to slide it further down the metal tube should help as well. Once this adjustment of the filler neck is made and the tank replaced with updated part, that is as good as it gets. I know, it sucks, but they said that it wont be fixed until like 2009 or something. Just don't refuel until the tank is totally empty and it should do it less often. I could explain why I think this happens but we're looking at twice as much text. It is likely that this situation will be present the entire life of the vehicle and you will have to deal with it or sell it. I hate to sound rash, but its the meat and potatoes mano a mano truth.

It happened to mine when it was new. I made a fool of myself yelling at the station owner when I got drenched with fuel when it overflowed while I was looking the other way. A couple more times it was a slow fillup but it hasn't done it since then in over a year now. One of those unsolved mysteries. But like others said turn the pump nozzle upside down and it should work for you.
