Steeda Front Sway Bar causing "Thunking" Noise
Hi, I own a 2006 mustang gt, and changed my front sway bars yesterday. However, after the installation was completed I took the car out for a drive, but to my dismay i heard a thunking noise. This noise was most noticable at very low speeds going over the small bumps and humps on the roads at the speeds of 1-30 Mph or so. It might be a measly innocent sound, but its driving me nuts! i cant drive the car without having that noise **** the crap out of me.

Are you using Steeda's end links for the anti roll bar? if you are that is where the noise is coming from. The rod ends make some noise over stock. The many reason is the Steeda ends unloadthe baruntilturn in. You can make the noise go away by going back to the stock end links.

check the nuts on the rods where they attach to the strut. If they are not super tight they will causea clunk going over bumps. I have to tighten mine every once in awhile.

It replaces the upper mounts for the struts.

If this issue just started after the sway bar install, check the nuts on the link rods where they attach to the strut. If they are not super tight they will causea clunk going over bumps as the holes in the struts are larger in diameter than the link stud. I have to tighten mine every once in awhile. An air gun works well to get enough torque on them.

i have steeda sway bars and no clunk, but i only used the sway bar (stock links).
steeda strut tower mounts also took care of the clunk noise that was there when i purchased the car

Are you speaking of the Red colored endlinks? If im not mistaken those are the only pieces that came with the front sway bar.

Check the endlinks you most likley do not have them tight enough.
If you didnt use two wrenches, you could have put one or both of
them into a bind. Did you tighten all the fasteners up with the Stang
lifted or at ride height? Makes a difference..... Ride height is the correct
way according to the shop manual.
Also read all of this.... LOL
