The X3 holds not only the 3 facotry tunes but has capacity to also hold 3 custom tunes. I believe that is the main feature of the X3.

I went with Bamachips and JLT CAI. The 3 tunes - 87 perf, 91 Race, and I think 89 torque. Can't easily get 93 octane The biggest advantage, the throttle opens all the way now rather than the stock limitation. That extra bit is like what it feels like, whena carb. opens its secondaries!

I started with the Race tune about 1,000 miles ago and am not sure I want anything less Like Joolander said, it truly is a different car. One thing I noticed, I never shut the traction contol off on the dash. IfI nail 2nd too soon,she gets real nasty. I definitely need wider tires!

I guess since I already have a Ford Racing CAI w/ a 91 tune, that's the reason I've never experienced the throttle lag I see mentioned so often. The guys on the Shelby forum swear by the Brenspeed tunes. One guy just installed it and found (w/ dyno results) that it added 5.7 hp at the rear wheels (93 octane tune, I believe), which is pretty good for the $375 spent I think!

I bought a Diablosport Predator and installed the 93 Perf tune. It was like the car woke up. I expect even more punch from some headers and a CAI... Will come soon.

Congrats on tuning the car the way it should have been from the factory.
