For Those With Shorty Headers...
...do you notice any difference in sound? I was wondering, because I am thinking of getting a pair. I have the FRPP GTA axleback mufflers, and I just wanted a little more sound, and I don't want to change the axlebacks to anything else, or modify the stock exhaust outside of the shorty headers. I know performance is negligble with them, and I don't want long tubes. I was just wondering if the sound changes at all...?!

Yes the sound does change, it gets a little deeper, but not louder IMO. I don;t have them myself but I've heard another member's '05 with Flowmasters before and after the JBA shorties.

I'm N/A with shorties and my numbers are decent... see my sig. The O/R H will make your stang louder/ deeper ... the O/R X will make it louder/ raspier and typically a 3 RWHP gain... I would think with an SC it should gain you something but at that point I would just go LT

RE: For Those With Shorty Headers...
Since our stock manifolds have a header like design from the factory I was thinking of getting shorty headers (304 SS) for the looks as I cannot stand the surface rust on stock ones. Not interested in LT's either butI am glad to hear that it may give a deeper sound to the exhaust note with the shorties. My exhaust is loud and deep with some popping sounds from time to time but after the S/C install the sound changed andI lost a little of the deep resonating tone thatI had before. I assume it is because the car is breathing deeper now hence more compression. Took some getting used to but I still love my magnaflows and side exhaust.
Moose -if you can find a 1 3/4 inch shorty header you will get rid of the exhaust gases quicker and have a cooler overall under hood and motor temps. I know you know this butI cannot find (have not looked hard) anything other than the 1 5/8 inch shorty header made by C.A.M. on Ebay. I do not want JBA as they use 409 SS andI want 304 SS. Besides I am happy with 454 RWHP now and not interested in small gains with an expensive LT header and difficult install.

RE: For Those With Shorty Headers...
Thanks guys, I think I will go with the shorties, I am just looking for some subtle sound change, and a nice look under the hood, nothing else as far as gains in HP are concerned.
