fuel pump upgrade necessary with my 475hp kit on 07 GT?
Hello Group,
I recently had a Saleen 475 hp supercharger installed on my 07 Mustang GT. I am hearing from some owners that I need to have two fuel pumps installed now or I will cause damage to my engine. Yet, the Saleen dealer that sold me the supercharger and upgrade kit tells me that it is not necessary if my AFR is correct. Heput my car on their Dyno that is especially for Mustangs, before and after the installation, and tells me things are great. What do you all think? Should I have the two pumps installed? I do want to put a tune on my car, but I don't want to damage anything. Any help you all can give me would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Casper

I believe the stock system is good to 500hp. If you really want to spend money on a new fuel system, check out the 800 hp system from MMR (you'll have to scroll down some)

This is a popular bone of contention. Some shops swear that it's absolutely necessary, then line up with their hands out to run you the $800+ to install the GT500 dual pump. Other places say it's not required.
My motor is pushing over 450rwhp on the stock pump but with 60lb injectors. The installer reckons it'll be fine forever and a day barring outright pump failure. It dyno'ed perfectly with a flat line A/Fof 11.5 andIalways keep a watch on the A/F ratio via the O2 output voltage using an MSD Dashhawk - so far I haven't recorded a single hiccup.

If you keep your rev limiter stock and always shift at 6k then you might be fine, but you are definately at the max for the stock pump and I wouldn't want to miss a shift. I'm happy I got the gt500 pumps so I don't have to worry about it. I'd be constantly worried at high rpms with the stock pump. I read somewhere that it starts to go lean above 6k with the 475hp saleen kit and stock pump.

Right now, you're fine
as long as they dynoed it and you have a good tune, you are set.
I dynoed at 440/421 pushing 9+ psi at the top of the run on the stock fuel pump with 39lb injectors and the Saleen S/C
I am nice and solid till about 6,300 and that's where the stock fuel pump starts to max out for me
With my shift light set at 6,100, I have no probs....
