The old lady story is a classic but don't let that scare you too much, they pull that one for nearly all types of cars, it'sso clichéd it's not really meant to be takenseriously LOL
If your mechanic checked it over and the carfax is clean, you can't really do anything more. Sure, not all accidents are registered on Carfax, but that's not a fault of carfax, it's just the way it is. Your man said it was good and straight, there may be a tiny fender bender repair somewhere, who cares.

Now it's down to you.
Right Car, Right Price, Right now, sounds good to me.........

They even told me who owned it before, an older lady had it and traded it in for a new model and bought from the same dealership so that was a ++.
And she only drove it to church on Sundays......
Call this older lady and get the real story.
They should not be hesitant to give you her contact info.
If they are, Run Logan Run...

On the way back to the dealership the engine light comes back on they take it in the back we leave, he calls me later and says theres something wrong with the throttle head and they are gonna replace it for free. But other then that nothing is wrong with the car and is in fairly great shape.
They take it in the back and say it was probably water throwing off the sensor
The engine light problem should have been fixed before the car was offered
up for sale. It coming on at the exact point in time as the test drive is too
much of a co winky dink for me. Expect it to come on again in the near
future. I would have had him pull the DTCs in front of me instead of taking
his word as to what was the problem. Whats a Throttle Head and is this
what the Tech called it when explaining the problem to you? Are you car
repair savy? Can the seller pull up all of the repair history? Was it sold
originally by the same seller?Water made a sensor go a little off? Seems
like the engine compartment was extremly dirty and the pressure washed
it a little too close and forced water where it was not designed to be in
an effort to get all the nasty looking dirt off of it. Avoid this Stang like
the plague. There are others out there. Sounds like a mistreated moneypit.[:@]

They didnt "pull the old lady" card on me, they pulled up the info on it and I glanced over and saw that she was 45 they didnt tell me, and he showed me she traded it in for a new 07 GT.

Our mechanic we always go to checked it over, he said everything was perfect. He said the idle being off wasn't that huge but would be good to check it out. The dealership checked it out and replaced the throttlehead for free, Called the mechanic and he said that wasnt anything major, and now the car is running perfect.

And the car is still under manufacture warranty for a few months
