Default meziere water pump question

i've been doing a few exterior mods on my car the past couple of months and now it's time to go back to giving it some more power.... i wanted to do either udp's or i've been reading about the meziere electric water pump too. I just read on this months modified mustang mag that the water pump is good for 11hp... just like the udp's. which would be the easiest to install and which would give me the best gains for my mods... Also, do i need a new tune for the water pump too? i'm really looking to buy one of these tomorrow to get it here by next thursday or friday for the install. just needed some opinions from a few of you to set me on the right track.

Typically I would say that the pump will gain you about 8... however, I'm sure that one stang out there... somewhere... got 11... [&:]. No, a tune isn't required but I always get my stang retuned after a few mods anyways just to see what improvement I gained per mod. ~ J

Neither of them is particularly difficult to install. Make sure you order the relay kit with the Meziere water pump. I'm not sure why they don't include it by default, but they don't. It allows you to easily use a fused ignition source for turning the pump on/off, and a relay for providing the power.

The pump DOES NOT require a tune, and you can run the same size belt since the pulley is 5"...same as stock.

I had the water pump, udp and 3.73's installed all at the sametime. With the combination of the three, I got a nice "seat of the pants" gain.

I have the udp's but will be putting on the meizere pump mainly to cool it down in between races easier. If I werent bracket racing I would probably just stay with the udps, but cooling it down to the same temp between rounds for drag racing makes it easier to run the same dial round after round.
