Yep sounds about the path I was thinking about. I can just remember being a little kid playing in my front yard and some all black on black cobra that sounded like fu*king godzilla came barreling down my street. Cant remember the year cause it was so long ago, just remember that black streak and a blast of hot air afterwards, since then been in love with mustangs. So Im deciding on sticking with the s197 model. GT 08 or a GT 07. Honestly at first I didnt like the new s197 look when I first saw them back in 05, they grew on me 
No I added on the spoiler. Got it from a small shop down here in SA. Personally I think my stang looked better without that thing on the back but I mean whatever right?

The S197 is better on every level. Especially the shock towers, front suspension.
Don't bother with the older models.
Besides, 94/04 looks too close to a Japmobile IMO. Nothing retro about it.
Except for the Terminators, they suck power wise, even the Cobras.

I owned a 2002 V6 and absolutely loved it. It was my first mustang that I was able to buy while I was in college. It was standard right down to the Cloth interior. No upgrades of any kind...(COULDN'T AFFORD ANY) but I never had any problems with it. Maintenance was easy to keep up. I never thought I would get rid of it until I deployed. Five months into my deployment I told my wife to sell the car save some money on the insurance and no longer having to have a car payment although it was almost paid off. I love the older stangs and doesn't matter what I am driving I always catch myself looking at other Mustangs. But I decided to go with the S197...the look will always be remembered and I new it was time for me to upgrade. I think if I could buy an older Cobra I probably would.

A Cobra should of got at least 100 hp over the GT back then to make it worthwhile. That 30hp or so was a joke.
What a relief when the Terminators came out!!
The 2000 R model was interesting though, with the 5.4. But no A/C? No thanks, not here in FL.

I've had 5 stangs. 86gt, 87gt, 91gt, 99cobra, and the current 06gt. I've modified, and loved them all. I put 18k into the 91, and would die to have it back.

I love all Mustangs, I've owned an '83 and still own an '88. I would never diss any Mustang of any vintage, and I feel comraderie with anyone that drives one, but let's be clear on this: All things considered, the S197 is the best Mustang ever. No ifs, ands or buts.
