You can mount it wherever you like. It looks like an OEM style black rocker switch. You can see apicture of it on our web site. It lights up when turned on. This same manufacturer sells to OEM suppliers so the quality is just as good. They have a 3 year warranty on the element and use weatherpack connectors etc. I had them installed in a car and enjoyed them a lot. You really don't know what you are missing until you have heated seats for those cool days. They warm much faster than the in car heater and soothe and aching back as well. For convertibles, it even prolongs the # of days you can take the top down

There is only one standard swtich. I am sure you could always pick up another switch you liked and use that instead.

The heaters can be installed on seats with side airbags but you definitely would want a professional installer to do it as there is a safety issue in that case.

These heaters are thermostatically controlled so that they do not overheat. Seat heaters have come a long way over the years. These ones can have a hold punched through them and only a few cells will stop operating while the rest of them still work perfectly. Older designs wouldn't work after any damage.
