Brake Lights Stay ON!!
 

I am havinga issue when I turn my car off, 30 seconds later my two inner brake lights stay on, and my license plate light stays on. This is with the car turned off, the lights turned off and the doors locked. It is raining here today, so I don't know if that would be why. I checked the passenger floorboard, but it was dry. Any suggestions?? I do have sequentials and the one touch turn signals.

Check your install and wiring.

check the switch at the brake pedal. I had this same issue on my explorer.

Might be the infamous leak.

I came outside to go to work one morning and found my right side tail light still on after the car had been shut down all night. Turned out the Smart Junction Box had been fried by The Leak.

Well, I work 3rd shift, so I put the car in the garage this morning and unhooked the battery. When I woke up, I reconnected the battery, and poof..... the lights came back on. So, even though my floor was not wet, I decided to take the plate off that covers the SJB, and sure enough, there was water. So, I took the car to the dealer and dropped it off tonight, and the gave me a Ranger for a rental. After I dropped it off, 1 of the 3 sections on the passenger side brake light stayed lit, all 3 on the drivers side, the drivers side front turn signal, and the license plate light stayed on. We will see what they say. I will let everyone know.

Sorry about not updating this. I took my car into the dealership and sure enough I had a wter leak that I found and they found. It was on the passenger side front coming through the cowls, which there is a TSB out for. They had to change out my SJB and sealed up the cowl area where it was leaking. Hope this helps somebody out.
