I have the CDC stick on ones and they look really cool until you open the hood.
Or until you actually need them from keeping your hood from flying off...

Not drilled = waste of time IMO.

I was going to ask the newb question. Is that what they are for? Keeping the hood latched or something? Or a combination of that and visual appearance.....?

Well, the actual real use for them is to keep the hood from flying up should the locking mechanism fail, but the hood pins are an old school look that alot of people including myself like alot. So I guess your question would depend on how you plan on using them.

Aftermarket hoods use to be known for haveinf the stricker seperate from the hood and the hood flying up cause a lot of damge. I always use pins with aftermarket hoods. Especially with these winds we have had latelty. Just that extra reassurance.

they are there for appearance.
If they are working to keep your hood on - then somehow you have unlatched the hood and some defeated the safety catch. If the wind caught and jerked your hood past the safety catch then no hood pin in the world is gonna save ur hood or your a$$.

but, drill'em if you get them. even if for appearance, you might as well do them right, cause you will inevitably want to raise the hood.

Got drilled ones here. Took about 2 hours to install because I kept remeasuring everything over and over to make sure I don't make a hole were I'm not supposed to. Got them because everyday on the way to and from work I go over 100 sometimes up to 140 and I'm worried about losing myhood.[&:]
P.S. Adhesive ones DON'T work.
