how to remove 3rd eye brake light
i want to tint my 3rd eye brake light, and i have tried cutting the tint to the shape but you can still see the red on the sloped sides, and i want to know just how to take out the whole thing so i can wrap the tint aroudn it and tape it on the back, like my friend did for his tail lights on his cobalt.
While im at it... does anyone know how to remove the front or rear markers?
thanks in advance

Front and rear markers will probably require removal of the bumper covers - I think there's writeups somewhere here.. try the search.
For the 3rd brake light, pop the trunk, remove the trim panel covering the latch assembly and light - it's retained by clips so gingerly pop it out, and position the cover off to the side (you don't have to remove it completely, just mind the wiring). You'll then be able to see that the 3rd light it held in by a tab on either end, disconnect the wiring plug attached to the light, gently press tabs in to push out lens from the inside. Do the reverse to install - no big whoop.

Its super easy to get it out. Just take off the panel in the back of the trunk and push the light out from the inside. No tools required.
This is the best pic I have from when I was in there. The light is in the middle of the picture.

The front signals will not need the bumper to be removed.just loosen the front part of thwe splach shield and remove the screws in the lights and the clips on the outer part of the light.

as mentioned bumper covers need not be removed, on the front turn signals it's easier to loose the inner fender liner to gain access to the lamp, then just squeeze the taps on the outer side of the lamp in and remove, the rear side markers are removed by taking something like a small flat bladed screw driver (with the end cover with masking tape so you don't scratch your paint) insert at the back side of the lamp and push towards the front of the car about a 1/8" to release, takes about 2 seconds to remove.

Can this be tinted at 5% or removed completely? Is it even neccessary to be legal?
