Default How do you decide on what brand/mod?

So, its that time again.. mod selection =)

I have decided on a Onroad X pipe, and Catbacks..

My question is, With all the different possibilites out there, how do you decide?. ive viewed probably 100 youtube videos of peoples exhaust and they all sound the same to me lol..

Assume price is not a factor in the purchase, What characteristics do you base your buying decission on?

Of course, Im open to suggestions for your personal fav Xpipe/cat back choices

The mustang forum has a lot of answers from people
who have done that before. Welcome to the answer place.
Pipes/muffler modders chime in here.

I think the best way is to hear as many in person as possible. The sound clips you hear on the Internet never seem to do justice. If you can find Mustang shows near you just ask people if you can hear it. Everyone love to help with that. I've seen many people buy 1 exhaust and then pull it off and go for another, more research up front is worth it. It will also depend on the person, what is pleasing to 1 person isn't the same to another. Good luck in the search. -Joe

With a proper video (like TBs stock/stingers/stingers a o/r h) that do a comparison it is much easier to decide...just hearing a video of SLP LMs on one car in one setting and then comparing it to pypes violators on a different car in a different setting is misleading as hell IMO....either find videos like TB did or like stated above, the best way is to find a mustang meet and listen in person.

Even me telling you i like my o/r h and stingers sounds fantastic is only my opinion and many other people think the stingers alone is to loud so would hate this setup

its totally a personal thing as far as exhaust goes. i prefer my macs over all the others, but some people prefer magnaflow or stingers or whatever. u really have to hear em all before buying because it would suck pullin up next to someone who spent the same cash but sounds more like what you were goin for.

I'll agree with jbailer here on this ... best way is to hear all the different ones in person's ... try finding shows and meets in your area and ask them is you can here it ... I'm certain that they won't mind letting you hear their setup ~ J
