That's one way to look at it. Cheaper on gas, cheaper on insurance, cheaper sticker, etc. I wasn't looking for economy when we got the GT, but we were pleasantly surprised with the 27 mpg that we are currently getting. My old 67 only got 16 mpg. I had it jetted way down so that it would run at 10,200' and even then, it ran rich.
