ORIGINAL: Chevy Convert

The price difference is not worth it. For under $2K you can have a GT walk all over that shelby.

Yep, the Shelby is something that is bought by people who plan on keeping everything stock. It's a nice piece as it comes from the factory.

Its a matter of affordability, I would get a shelby if I could have afforded one....

if your not going to drive it much and leave it stock then shelby would be good just for the status symbol I guess. My wife however has only a cai, t/b, udp's and a tuner and it will walk all over the shelby and only has $950 in mods. so if you are like me and many of the rest that cant leave well enough alone I would say get the gt

For the 10k markup on a half-assed car, I would go for the GT.

If the name "Shelby" is worth an extra $12K to you, then get it.

No matter what you do to a stock GT with the $12,000 savings over the Shelby, it will never be a Shelby. It would be faster, have more horsepower, and you can mod it any which way you want... but it will never be a Shelby.

If having a car with a legit Shelby heritage is that important to you, then it's worth it.
