Your Mustang and the Rain/Snow

RE: Your Mustang and the Rain/Snow
I live in the Seattle area, I don't even bother opening the garage door when it gets icy or snows. I tried to move it over to the other side of the garage when it had snowed, after I backed out, I had to have someone help me push it back in. No traction at all......LOL but that's not why I have it.

buying 4 snow tires is a waste of money. you only need 2 for the rear wheels and you'll be fine. i don't put weight in my trunk either cause i like spinning out in the snow :-D as long as i'm not in heavy traffic or going fast, etc.
basically leave tcs ON and you'll be fine, even with a lead foot. just drive a little slower, take it easy on turns, and leave room to stop. start in 2nd gear if you have a manual.

As I sat in my big black Dodge Ram I would lookdown at these people in "cars"
and think to myself....Look at these morons, I would NEVER own a car !
Why would anyone own something without 4wheel drive????? lol

Gotta love the stangs.

I drive mine all year round, it wasn't nearly as bad in the snow as people made it out to be. Some people said that my car would not be driveable in the winter, granted there were a few times when I was driving to school on the highway doing 35mph in the right hand lane cause the snow was bad. But it was by no mean impossible to drive. Rain doesn't phase me at all. As long as you don't try anything stupid in the rain/snow, it'll be fine. I have no problems spinning the tires in 3rd doing 20mph.
I have the all-season stock tires.

RE: Your Mustang and the Rain/Snow
I think the mustang sucks in the rain. I just had an accident because of it. Basically started hydroplaining. My rear end kicked right into traffic next to me, so I hit the brakes and spun out. Luckily I avoided causing a major pile up and only damaged my passenger side on a center guard thing.

[sm=sorry.gif] This doesn't work for everyone, I know, but when it snows (or rains) I park the Mustang in the garage til the roads are dry again. [sm=signs007.gif]
