Ebay HIDS .... ya ya i know i know
Ok, i know this topic has been beat to death regarding the quality and whatnot of the ebay HID kits. With that being said I'd like to compile a list of users who have bought ebay hid kits with the following criteria.
Type kit (hi/lo) Seller's Name Comments/Problems Price
This will help everyoneon a budgetwho is interested in HIDs for the S197

I have pilot hi/lo for the highs--dont remember the seller, but no problems whatsoever. Paid $150ish
Also Xentec for the fog lights--again, don't remember seller, Has radio interference when on. Paid $100
Both are 8k kits, and match perfect even though they are made by different manufacturers.
The best in the business is McCulloch hands down, but even their kits on ebay go for $200-300 dollars, retail is around $500. But are nice units.

Trust me, i'm all for supporting board sponsors and would love to support them; however, if i can save $100+ on a similiar product that works without problems i'm gonna go for it. If money was no object I'd have already bought a set from stangmods or american muscle. Unfortunately I have to save money in order to buy parts for the car.

It's a minefield out there, that's the problem and the truth is you don't know what you're buying until it arrives.
I decided to go with recommendations when buying my front clear lenses and bought from Stangmods instead of Ebay (at double theprice). You can imagine my reaction when I received cheapass poducts which required time and a little money to fix beforeI could even install them, turns out they were the SAME things people had been complaining about after buying them off anonymous Ebay buyers.
You pay your money you take a chance with mass produced 'low end' stuff like this.
