Personally on a black car I think you can pull of a CF hood without painting but I would still get it cleared for protection. Its your $$ do what makes you happy.

If you like it, then Im all for it. I think a black car can and should be the only color that pulls it off, w/out paint to match.

i would only buy a carbon fiber hood if my car was black.otherwise it just looks like you went to a junk yard and got one that would fit and couldnt afford to paint it

Not a bad looking hood, but pricey. How much would it cost to have your stock hood repainted every year? If that is your main reason for switching hoods (because you are OCD about the paint chips), run the numbers. If you plan on keeping the car a long time, might be cheaper over the long run to buy the carbon fiber (assuming carbon fiber hoods don't show paint chips- not sure if that's true or not).

It's a nice looking Hood, maybe a little costly. I like the Cowl Hood better.

I personally like the hood. Its not too dramatic.

You mentioned you dont want to paint it. BUT, the hood is mostly likely not gonna be the same shade of black as your car. Would you be happy having a hood that doesnt match the rest of your car? Good luck and let us know what you decide.
