Spots and Stripes..for those of us how have the stripes, do you also have Spots? The Spots on the stripes appear to discolorations or stains. I previously had silver colored stripes on mytungsten grayMustang. After the stripes were installed theystarted to spot, discoloror stain. I'm wondering if anyone else has experieced this problem.Does anyone knowthe cause?Is there anything thatcould be doneto remedy the problem?

My car was previously damaged and just got my car back from the shop. I'm wondering if Ishould have the stripes put back on,as this might end up happening again. If you could show me your Stipes..

No stripes here as I just got my car back from the shop.

Mine are getting discolored and spotty as well. Metallic silver stripes. I'm wondering if the shop used sub-standard materials in ana attempt to maximize profit when doing mine.

I'm having the stripes painted in the spring anyway but it still pisses me off.

That would be a big YES. Hey loots06, I e-mailed Rob at BSM and am waiting for a reply.
My spots are on the roof & rear deck lid only, hopefully the hood and back trunk panel and F/R bumpers stay clear. Maybe it's an issue with the silver stripes only? [&o]
For those asking what type of stripes we 're talking about, they're the 3M silver vinyl stripes.
The yellow spots are the discoloration, these are on the roof stripes.

I had Metallic silver stripes as well and they were vinyl. I dont think the problem started with what they used at the shop but rather the color of the stripes themselves. What do you think?

05gt...I think your on it as mine were the same. The spots started small like your and just got bigger and bigger. My stripes came from Bob White decals..

There was a thread about 4 or 5 months back pertaining to Silver Stripes, and spots / discoloration. It revolved around a problem with specific lots of I believe 3M stripe tape. The individual having the issue resolved it with Rob over at Baltimore Street Mods.......

Bob White decals here also. I will never buy from him again. I called and told him the problem I was having. I didn't describe it very well and then he said he had never heard of this happening. Then after talking to him about it a little more he described it to a tee!!! Like he was looking at my car that very second. It made me scratch my head as too how one second he didn't have a clue and the other second he knew more than I did. He blew me off and told me to call 3M. I could see how that conversation would go right now. "You have our product on your car?" "Yes" "So, what do you want us to do about it." "Umm, well, ummm, nevermind"

Yeah thanks BOB WHITE!!! You lost me as a customer and anyone else I know!!!
