stripes, stickers or paint?

RE: stripes, stickers or paint?
I went with vinyl because of costs.
150 bucks and my hood stripes look good.
The painted stripes would look better, but don't have an extra arm and leg to pay for it.
I've had mine for a year, and just got a miniscule rock chip in mine.
I can only imagine how pissed I'd be if that happened to pinted stripes.
Rock chips are expected up here, very rural with a lot of logging trucks.
If it ever bugs me enough i can spend another 150 and get them restriped.
I can do that quite a few times and still not hit the costs of paint.
But again, I think painted stripes look better.

Ifigured vinyl stripes would be a good idea because you can remove them if you get bored/want a change/decide it was a mistake. Unfortunately removing them also turned out to be a mistake [for me] as the installer had left a bunch of cut lines in the clear coat during install. The car is going in for a re-clear for Hood & trunk Tuesday [:@]
You know, painted stripes will always be superior to vinyl to people in a community like this, that is to say, people "in the know", but in the outside world, the average Joe wouldn't even notice the difference between vinyl and paint.

It depends on $ and taste i just finished removing mine to day "vinyl" and it was a payne to get the adheasive off 4 hrs and they have been on for 6-8 months plus my car does not get much sun, with painted stripes you can't remove them if you change your mind without being real $$$$$ try vinyls cheapest way if you really like them have them paintedgood luck.

I had vinyl for about 5 months. Where I live is a lot of industry and the stripes looked awfull after about 3months. Installer used 3M 7yr vinyl. I had waxxed, cleaned, protected and the vinyl just failed. The istaller had to chemically remove them and it softened the paint on the bumpers and wing(plastic parts only) I went ahead and had the stripes painted and the whole car re-cleared with whatI consider to be one of the best clear coats available. Whole car is now slick as glass, far far far superior to the factory Ford paint job. Less than 2k for stripes and clear the whole car.

Hey 5SPD, I've got the alloy color aswell, since your already have the flat black stripes, have you had any comments at all on them? And do they look totally noticeable irl? I'm thinking of either white, or the flat black like yours (I liked the look ) Also how would a Alloy/Black color scheme look, any opinions? Like the Alloy color with the flat black stripes, black wing, and some accessories. Or too ricer? haha
